So chirps Afghanistan-abandoner, Condi Rice, in another massive flash of brilliance that barely could be contained by the pages of Fortune magazine.
“The last time we left Afghanistan, and we abandoned Pakistan,” she said, “that territory became the very territory on which Al Qaeda trained and attacked us on September 11th.”
So if we stay in Afghanistan, we’re screwed. If we declare victory and come home, we’re screwed. And if we are handed a bungled war, we can fully expect no help at all from the bunglers who took a sharp right into Iraq in the first place.
