The Day Marilyn Died

In the clip below, police and prosecutor begin to describe what Sam Shepard said happened the night his wife, Marilyn, was so cruelly murdered in Bay Village, OH the night of July 4, 1954. Between good lawyers and media malfeasance, this was a case that dragged on for years. “The Day Marilyn Died” was awarded a 2008 regional Emmy for best Arts/Entertainment Program, and was the pilot episode for the series Doris O’Donnell’s Cleveland. The series has been nominated in five 2009 Emmy categories.

As part of their true crime series,which includes four Storytellers programs, “The Day Marilyn Died” will be screened at Lakewood Public Library on Tuesday, September 22 at 7 p.m. See you there.
